’s Guide to Halloween

It’s that spooky time of the year again. You know, the season in which people enjoy any excuse to scare the hell out of little kids and indulge in an unlimited offering of chocolate and candy. But also — COSTUME PARTIES! HOORAY!

To be honest, Halloween is the ultimate weed smokers’ holiday. It’s equal parts spooky, goofy and vibey, with all that witchcraft and weed, you know. So, as you prepare for an epic Halloween, let help you figure out what to wear, where to go, and how to smoke.

First Thing’s First: Stoner and Weed-Themed Costumes

The Crowd Favorite: Cheech and/or Chong

Dressing up as this Grammy Award-winning comedy duo is a sure-fire way to let people know you’re 420-friendly. Perfect for besties or couples who love sharing fatties. The only downside is that this costume has been done to death by stoners for decades. And if you decide to go as this legendary duo, just remember to get out of the parked car once you arrive at the party.

The Obvious Stoner: Shaggy from ‘Scooby-Doo’

There is no louder stoner costume than the one and only Norville “Shaggy” Rogers from the Scooby-Doo franchise. One of the beautiful things about this costume is how easy it is to put together. All you need is an oversized green V-neck shirt, baggy brown pants, and a willingness be in public unkempt and ill-groomed, talk about the munchies, and say “Zoinks!”

The ‘Plug’ Stoner: Saul Silver from ‘Pineapple Express’

If you got ethnic-print pajama bottoms, gray head- and wristbands, snacks, and the dankest weed, then entering the party as Saul Silver, played by James Franco in 2008’s “Pineapple Express,” means you’re not only an expert smoker with a decent chance of winning the costume party, but you’re also probably the party’s plug.

The Noir Stoner: ‘The Dude’ from ‘The Big Lebowski’

Going to a Halloween party as Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski from the 1998 Coen Brother classic, “The Big Lewbowski,” would be cliche if it weren’t so damn legendary. This cult classic made a zenned-out, dudeism-practicing stoner played by Jeff Bridges the leading man in a noir movie full of hazy twists and turns. No shame in going as everyone’s favorite stoner of mystery.

The Straight to the Point costume: Blunt

To be blunt, this is beautiful.

The Crafty Costume: Bong

We’ll admit, this one will take some craftiness and ability to think outside the box. But if you want to have a lit Halloween, it’s well worth getting crafty.

The Lazy Costume: Store-Bought Bag of Weed Costume

We have no words.
