Snackbot delivers healthy snacks and beverages from Hello Goodness direct to students. This the first U.S. launch of robots from a major food and beverage company.
The University of Pacific community can place food and drink orders from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. via the snackbot app, which is available for iOS with a University of the Pacific email address. The products can be delivered to more than 50 areas across the 175-acre campus, with the snackbots able to travel a range of more than 20 miles on a single charge. Equipped with a camera and headlights, the snackbot can see and safely navigate in complete darkness or rain, and also has all-wheel drive capabilities for handling curbs and steep hills.
Launched in 2016, Hello Goodness was created by Pepsi to offer customers healthy product choices. The products were initially offered through a line of vending machines, and the plan is to deliver 50,000 touchpoints by the end of the year.
